Luban block planes at Rutlands

I've seen these on offer at Rutlands, http://www.rutlands.co.uk/sp+qiangsheng ... +DK1335SET . I'd been considering buying a shoulder plane recently, and had pretty much decided to watch for an old Record or Stanley. Would this rebate plane be suitable for cleaning up shoulders? And ',m also interested, does this offer represent good value? I already have a Stanley block plane with an adjustable throat that I use almost daily and am perfectly happy with, and it was less than £30. Would the Luban standard block plane represent a step up in standard? Sorry for the rambling nature of my post :|

For shoulders I think you are better off with a shoulder plane. It's easy to hold it square and firm and has little or no overhang. I imagine the wider rebate plane wouldn't be so easy to hold on a narrow surface.
