I wanted to contact Dave R. (Richards I think) who was very knowledgeable about the Woodrat. Is Dave still a member of UKWorkshop?

The only member called Dave R as far as I can see has not visited the site since 2015 and only made two posts so I suspect that is not the chap you are looking for.
If you can find a relevant post using the advanced search function (magnifying glass top row) click on the members profile/avatar it should display the last time the member visited and, if enabled, you may be able to pm or email him.
