my neighbour as been making reindeer;s for people out of logs and he as just asked me the best way to store logs for next year would i be correct in saying to paint both ends of the logs to seal them and keep them dry ?? ps i think it;s danger mouse lol

how many does he make?

I would be tempted to keep a few logs over-length, and just pick from the best next dec.
 
Ok i think he was hoping to stock up all though the winter and summer ??
 
They seem popular at the moment.

This one sold for £30 in our local auction recently

Stored logs dry out from the ends, if you paint/seal them it will delay the drying process, just stack them with an air flow gap above, below and around them, put a rain proof cover over the top.
