I’ve been given advice in a separate thread re replacing my bandsaw blade guides with LV. I’m trying to source what would be a tiny amount of the stuff (4 pieces about 5mm square by 30 mm long). So I’ve looked at pen blanks as the most logical way to achieve these sizes economically. Trouble is, the couple of suppliers I’ve looked at demand a minimum order of £25. Any suggestions re suppliers, or does anyone have a bit they could let me have in return for a charitable donation?

Pm me your address and the exact dimensions and I will sort some out for you.

I think that old bowling woods are LV.
Take up Pete's offer and look out for some woods at antique and collectables shops.

Yep that's where I get mine from, they make fantastic mallets, just like bottle tops.

Almost any hardwood does the job perfectly well, but beech is best in my experience. If you get some lignum vitae, save it for something interesting, as it is quite a rare wood these days.
