I need to turn a leg for someone which is almost 900mm long, unfortunately my lathe is too short, and my mates lathe which normally I would use is not working. Is there a kind soul in the Bristol area who might let me come and use their lathe for an hour or two, shouldn't take long it's a simple leg to support a kitchen bar.
Much appreciated.

I have an Axi AWL37 which opens up to about 940 mm between centres and I am in Bristol. I'll send you a pm.

Sorted, many thanks again to Andy, great to meet you & hopefully I can return the favour at some point

You're welcome. I'd been imagining something long and thin, like in Robbo's linked video but this job was a fairly hefty lump of oak. I now know that my simple old lathe is solid enough for much bigger jobs than I have ever attempted.

Sorry no pics were taken. Perhaps we'll see the finished article in place.
