Have been working on a small project for a few weeks now. Made from Toys and joys plans and using some of their accessories, main woods used are beech and sapele,
It is a model of a 1936 Ford I always wanted to make a totally wood made model finished with a satin spray on lacquer.

I assume that is for the display cabinet because it is far too nice for a child to play with (although I do believe that toys should be played with), but this is more than a toy, it's a work of art! =D>

I only wish I could make something as nice for the grandchildren to look at!

I also enjoyed the WIP pics

It is not as difficult as it looks think through each process for making each part take your time and lastly enjoy making one. A good set of plans is ideal.

Have a go

Just out of interest what would something like that cost? - With xmas coming up I can think of 2 little boys (separate families) that would love 1 each of those - but maybe a bit simplified for play use - ages 4 and 6.

This one cost about £5 for wood as most came from the scrap box. And then there was the plans and accessories, the price for these can be seen http://www.woodworkscraftsupplies.co.uk/index.php?cPath=61_63 There are many more plans in their library.
