hi

i'm building a router table, & have bought the kreg router plate to mount my router on to.

the kreg plate has two insert reducing rings to reduce the diameter of the centre hole to fit different sized cutters
and the instructions say:-

Installing and leveling the Reducing Rings:-
"Insert three 8-32 x ¼” Flat Point Socket Set Screws"

Secure the reducing ring by threading the 8-32
x 5/16” Phillips Flat Head Machine Screws (Lock-Down Screws) into their holes and
tightening snuggly.

there were no screws of any kind included with the plate, & i'm wondering if anyone else has bought one of these? & if so, were there screws included?

if not, anyone got any ideas where i can get such screws?

thanks
chris

I've bought Kreg stuff (not the router plate) that needed american bolts. I bodged what I need, but your best bet would be a specialist such as Namrick.

thanks your lordship!

i bought it from axminster so i contacted their customer services & said i couldnt believe it was meant to be sold without grub screws etc - they said that it was mesnt to be that way cos the picture on their website didnt show any screws of any kind!

so i foned the warrington branch & asked the guy there to check, & he says it should include screws & grub screws & the ones he's got in the store do, & that he'll swop mine on monday - so we shall see on monday! - the missus wants a trip to ikea anyway, so we can combine the two, & have some meatballs ....

Any decent bearing/screw/tools sales shop would carry them, but there are hundreds on the Bay.

Roy.

thanks roy for the advice!

axminster at warrington exchanged the plate for another which did in fact include the screws/ grub screws!

so i guess the moral is dont always trust what axminster customer services tell you!

There's an excuse for a grand shopping trip (for anybody who remembers the Marty Feldman Show)

While your good lady is watching the cricket:- put on your Tuxedo, grab a cab to the airport, catch a fast jet plane to Miami, woo some ladies, nip down to WalMart to buy some screws from their hardware department (lots of UNC, UNF etc threaded fasteners at knockdown prices), win a fortune in the casino, catch a fast jet plane and cab back home - if the cricketers have followed-on repeat

LOL! You've put your finger on the flaw in my plan.
