Kreg pocket hole jig drill bit

I am thinking of buying one of these kreg jigs but someone told me the drill bits dont last long is this true,will it drill a couple of hundred hole in different materials before it is no good.

Guess it will depend on your material, Phil. If you look at what other products are around, it really comes down to whether or not you like the actual system. For me, I do like the Kreg even though the joints have a tendency to pull offline especially if glue is also applied. But I think that the same criticism could be levelled at other jigs.

So I look at the drill bit as a consumable...bit like Fein blades.

I've probably done a couple of 1000 with mine mostly in MDF and MFC and can't see any signs of them blunting.

I have drilled holes in mdf,oak,ash and mfmdf and still on my first bit id say about 1500 holes and still going strong
