kity 629 brake stuck on

Hello all
As the title says, I went to use the spindle tonight and it wont start. All lights are on but wont go, the motor is stiff to turn by hand so I assume the brake is stuck on.
I am no electrical wizard and do not have a manual.
does anyone have any ideas how to "unstick" the brake or override it?

Hi I have a kity 629 and the motor on mine isn't braked. although it does stop within 10 seconds try slackening the belt to establish whether its a problem with the motor or actual spindle.
