Hi, lm a newby to UKWorshop and was wondering if there were any Kity 419's for sale? I've trolled through the for sale forum and there's doesn't seem to be anything recently. I presume the 'for sales' would be the place to look but thought l'd put it out there in case not.

If your budget can take it, you can buy a new one:

Therein lies the problem, by the time l add the accessories it's way out of my budget but thanks for the reply.

Thanks guys, much appreciate the replies. Just to update, l managed to buy a bargain from eBay that was already incorporated in to a homemade dual table saw/router table. It's a little Heath Robinson but with a little work and some TLC l should be able to make a nice job of it. I managed to get it for £100. The only 'minor' issue being that although the motor works, the output shaft has worn behind the woodruff key meaning it's unable to turn th pulley. I'm a Lift Engineer by trade so know guys in the motor/engineering world that should be able to sort that out for me. Then l just need to upgrade the dust extraction , a common thread on here l see ;)
Thanks again for the support and l'll keep following the Kity 419 threads.

I have found that the best way to sort the dust extraction is to contain it under the table, instead of just letting it fall through onto the floor, have a look at the first post here for an idea: axminster-ts250-2-modifications-t102284.html for extraction from below and from the crown guard.

Great, thanks Mike. The table has two drawers under the saw and lm thinking about removing one or both to fit the Axminster hood. Seeems like the best way forward. Thanks again for the help.
Damien.

If the draw fits well it may be only a matter of opening the bottom of the cabinet to the draw, sealing it up and boring a 100mm hole in the back and fitting one of these: http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-du ... 0mm-502568 connect the crown guard to the top, as long as you have a decent extractor should work, may require a bit of work inside the draw to slope the sides towards the outlet, but lets face it we are supposed to be carpenters. #-o

Thanks again Mike. It seems that it just refers to #8 as the motor so l might get in touch with the, regarding a replacement, if l can't get it fixed. On another note, if you don't mind, the table also has a router plate built in and l was thinking about extraction for that too. Ideally ld like to use my Nuematic Hoover under the table for both the table saw and the router. It would mean reducing the 'Axminster Big Mouth' from 100mm to 38mm and adding a Y connector to run another 38mm tube to the router extractor connector. To maintain concentrated airflow l would like to add blast gates in series with both but am struggling to find any that small. I could make some wooden ones but do you know of any manufacturers that do 38mm blast gates?

I do not know of any 38mm blast gates, but that is not your main problem, the problem you have is the Nuematic will not be powerful enough to serve in that function, certainly my 2400watt George was not powerful enough to clear effectively, Nuematic's are HPLV machines and you need a LPHV extractor on that sort of equipment, the Nuematic is good for fine dust extraction from sanders and hand tools, but anything that makes large chips it will struggle with, but to help somewhat, Axminster make a 100mm to Nuematic connector: http://www.axminster.co.uk/numatic-redu ... 1mm-210616 have a read of this thread: a-guide-to-dust-extraction-by-member-siggy-7-t102025.html and you will realise you need a Chip Extractor now, not in the future, but now, don't skimp buy it first, straight away and place everything in your workshop to use it.

Mike

HPLV = High Pressure Low Volume.
LPHV = Low Pressure High Volume.

Once again, thanks Mike. One last question then as l don't want to take up any more of your time, but, will a LPHV work with the Router table too? I'm guessing not but as it's table saw and router router combination l wanted to mount the one Hoover under the bench which can be wheeled around workshop as and when l use it.

Don't worry about my time, I am glad to help.

I use this: http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-ho ... tor-501264 on my table saw, UJK router table and Kity planer thicknesser to very good effect in fact I would go as far as saying its excellent, I used to use my Nuematic and it was inadequate to say the least especially on the Ktity where it would leave chips on the surface of anything being planed and mark the surface, on the router table lots of dust and chips left in the router enclosure as well, this now does not happen, which means the Nuematic is now exclusively used for clean up duties and small tool extraction.

I took Mike's advice on that extractor and very happy with it. It's quite big if you're in a small space but essential for a P/T. Also louder than a vac. If you want the filter cartridge that costs another £165 and is currently out of stock.

By the way Mike, I did end up removing the square tube between the bag/cartridge and motor/impellor. Just lifted the whole motor up on a wooden frame. It needed both of the gaskets for a tight seal.

Well the tube between it and the cyclone can be less now as its about the same level. That's why I did it. So I've removed a good 1 or 2 meters.

My very scientific tests (stick hand in end of hose) confirms it definitely sucks in a good way

All I know is the suck has either stayed as good or got better with the two changes I've made as far as I can tell. Removing the y adaptor and using 125mm from extractor to cyclone was the other alteration.

Have you got a picture? We love pictures.

To test the suction you put your hand in front of it, well I am much more scientific I have one of these: http://www.axminster.co.uk/floor-gulper ... ent-211551 and when the extractor is running if I put it on the floor I can't move the B****y thing unless I tip it backwards, and sometime I stick it to the ceiling just for laughs.

Mike

Sorry about going off topic for this thread but here's a couple of pics of the extractor.

I'm probably going to add another support under the right side of the impellor and the duct between it and the cyclone needs shortened.

As you say, the suck is enough to give you a surprise if youre holding it and you get too close to a flat surface! Also there's little point in that huge plastic bag as it gets next to nothing in it.
