just got some wood

My selection of wood blanks from Yandles.
Padauk, Tulip wood, Oak, Lace wood, Elm, Purple heart, and more Yew.
Have tried Padauk and like that, it is as good as Yew to turn and a nice colour.
Still got to go a long way before I am any good at this turning but I am happy with what I have done so far.

Hi Reg.

Word of warning, when turning your Padauk don't put your turning clothes in the wash before checking what's in there already, the dust makes a fantastic dye.

Hi Reg - nice piece of turning .Can only agree with Tam about the dust - I have a polo shirt that has a slight red tinge to it now,thanks to padauk dust (which seems to get everywhere )
Sounds like you have a nice selection of timbers to try out,will look forward to seeing the results.
