Since the JTS-600 has been making too much noise, and following advice received here I decided to replace the shaft and pulley.
Axminster supplied the shaft without drama but could not source the pulley.
Much googling later a pulley was sourced in France, £22 for the pulley and £30 for delivery.
Beggars can't be choosers so I went ahead.
A courier brought a parcel today.
Definitely well packaged.
