I've got one, your description threw me for a second, Trial 1 is a range of gauges Axminster may call it a trail 1 but its a T14

I like the mid 1935- 40 ish type, marples boxwood carver handles , good old tools , dont like the urwin plastic stuff though . hc

A zoom in on your blog pictures shows that you have "William Marples" chisels (as opposed to Joseph Marples).

There are TWO companies named after members of the Marples family. They make (and made) different products to different designs in different factories.

You recommended "Marples" tools. I was trying to clarify which company you meant.
