has anyone attached two gravel boards together end on to make one continuous piece of wood?

I cant find a solution for this other than using a peg or an off cut of gravel board between the two and fixing them together against the peg or screwing a off cut onto both to fix them in place. i have been looking for some sort of end on clear which could be screwed to both to form a secure fixing but haven't found anything so wondered what people have done themselves?

thanks

*correction* i found this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fence-Pa...hash=item2cbb9edf4a:m:mhetNqfi3fw837PGCpOj6aA but not sure that would be strong enough, but might give you an idea of what i am looking to achieve.

Thanks again

+1 for a scarf joint. It'll be the strongest part of the whole gravel board.
