any ideas where i can some drum sanding belts for my jet 22/44 drum sander axminster charge about £ 27 a roll are there any cheaper suppliers

I seem to recall a thread saying that the width of the roll was important otherwise the end of the paper does not align with the clamp.

Bob

I git this for my 16-32 from Axminster

76 mm wide 4 meters long cloth backed roll , same width as the jet roll

I've tried various widths and with a bit of fiddling they work. Sometimes you have to live with a bit of a gap between adjacent 'winds' but that doesn't seem to affect the end result. Woodwoodjohn, if you do decide to go down this route I do have some unused rolls from Axminster we might come to some arrangement on!

I buy Mirka Avomax 115mm wide rolls/50m from Rest express about £20 a go - they'll make about 20 loadings, so that's about £1 each + long lengths of 40mm strip left over which is ideal for rough sanding on the lathe.

When you have those long rolls

do you use the old one as a template to trim down the width and length?

what grit are you guys using most of the time, as changing the paper is just a hassle
