I was just wondering if anyone has an opinion on Jets prices for spare parts.

I'm considering buying one of their bench top lathes but after having a bad experience with a faulty air filteration unit which I ended up having to replace the circuit for and finding the price very high i'm a little wary of buying from them again. Maybe it's because they're based in America that replacement parts are more expensive here?

Perhaps i'm wrong but would appreciate anyone's thoughts.

Jet stuff most likely originates from the same factory in china where everyone else's stuff comes from.

i wanted a replacement live centre point for my jet mini. it is listed as a spare for $2, give or take but brimarc didnt stock it, nor offer to order it on the next delivery. instead, they wanted about £15 for a replacement head for the live centre. since this should be a consumable, i was annoyed, but not offered any real alternative.

I rather suspect that you will find if spares are available for any machine, they are expensive. often they are not available at all. circuits are never cheap for anything though, so you may have had a bad example in that part.
