Ok how mean can you get.
those of you who went to the Axminster open day may recall in the sale I bought a little sqirrel tail plane for £15 with a view of taking it home for James my lad. It was one of these:-

Anyway on getting home I gave it to James and he was pleased with it but despite many attempts last weekend he just cannot use it as although its small he cannot get his small hand over the tail sufficiently to apply appropriate pressure on the front. No doubt this will change though as he gets older
So daddy has therefore started using it and all I will say is what a cracking little plane - its blade takes a razor edge and for fine work it is amazing. The sole is finely ground and typical Canadian quailty, it also fits in the hand beautifully
I can truly recommend these little planes if anyone is looking for something like this - as for James well I reckon his No2 plane will be making an appearance sooner rather than later!
