was in an auction bin of random stuff

They're for measuring double glazed unit and panel thickness. The plastic ones are pants, they flex too easily. The alu ones are better.

about 15" across

don't want em ...just thought i ask before i bin as never seen the likes

I think they're for measuring the width of wheels when tyre shops do the balancing .
 
You're both wrong I have seen these before. They are part of a Botanists field kit used for measuring the diam of butterflies gonads!

Vic I think the gonads bit is right, but it's for use on the male Rat A Tat Tat bird :lol:
