Your missus must be patience personified with that lot piling up in front of the white goods!
Took the words out of my mouth, mine would kill me!

If I was looking for a used Lathe what should I be looking at to get a "never again need to buy another lathe" I Think I'd like a meter long bed and ability to turn 14 or 15" bowls and variable speed.

Im not sure what sort of budget I need tbh and there doesn't seem to be much on ebay atm.

There are quite a few on Gumtree at the moment.

Dave

I do check Gumtree but there's been nothing local (50/60 miles) near me, I'll play the waiting game as Im not in a hurry :)

Get yourself an old Union Graduate lathe. They are often on eBay or other machinery sites.

I bought myself one of these and it really is a lovely piece of kit. Solid British engineering, none of your cheap foreign nonsense!

Have you got variable speed on it ?

Been offered an Axi aptc M950 for £150, seems a good price but not sure its much of an upgrade to my tyme cub or is it ? old reviews say its under powered

I'd say that an M950 would be only a very short-term upgrade for your Cub if at all.

MT2 with 1" x 8 TPI and cast iron bed but only relatively light-weight and not high precision alignment between head and tail. The Reeves drive is noisy but gives a degree of variable speed control. I had one for a couple of years before luckily being able to upgrade to a Jet 1642 which I've had for the last 12 years.

I'd be inclined to suggest that you save your money until a better offer comes your way.
