My father sent me this ....
I like the thinking !
It is August in a small town on the south coast of France. The holiday season is at its height but it is raining so there is not much business happening and everyone is heavily in debt.
Luckily, a rich Russian tourist arrives in the foyer of the small local hotel and asks for a
room. He puts a 100€ note on the reception counter, takes a key and goes to inspect the room located up the stairs on the third floor.
While the guest is away the hotel owner takes the banknote and rushes across the road to his meat supplier to whom he owes 100€.
The butcher then immediately takes the money and races to his wholesale supplier to pay his debt of 100€.
The wholesaler then rushes to the farmer to pay him the 100€ that he owes for the pigs he purchased a few weeks earlier.
The farmer is then able to the local prostitute 100€ for services previously rendered on credit.
The prostitute then goes quickly to the hotel to pay her 100€ debt for rooms that she had previously used to entertain clients.
At that moment, the rich Russian returns to the reception, informs the hotel owner that the proposed room is unsatisfactory, takes back his 100€ note and leaves.
The outcome was that no one in the town made any profit or income from the brief visit but everyone has paid off their debts and all look optimistically towards their future.
Could this be the solution to the Global Financial Crisis?
