Hi

I am trying to replicate a homemade woodturning stick I bought on ebay many many years ago. Alas the supplier seems to be no longer trading.

To day I tried a 100gram to 30gram mix of Carnuba flakes to beeswax mix via a heated bain marie operation. The heated mixture was poured into silicon mold and allowed to fully set.

When fully cooled the resulting sticks were fairly brittle and some had fractured in the molds. My thought are to increase the beeswax to prevent this occurring.

If any one can provide me with a recipe or the heads up to the correct carnuba/beeswax mix I would be most grateful.

Kind regards

Aden

Yeah, I understand and do make a beeswax paste and beeswax oil. However, I need to understand the production of a hard stick wax.

I will try increasing the ratio with beeswax, my thoughts are a mix of 50/50 may suffice .

I have explored the web, unusually there is no information on the production of these wax sticks.

Regards

Aden
