At the recent AWGB seminar I really enjoyed watching a demo and talking to the Irish sculptural turner Max Brosi.

He does some great work that is really different - one such series he has done mimics whale vertebrae such as is shown here.

Following his demo I’ve managed to finish off a piece. I’ve used oak and given the piece a scorched finish and sealed with finishing oil.

Something a bit different - I like the look but, esp with the burnt finish, it is amazingly tactile to run ones fingers over the curves and voids.
