I have come to a full stop on my search for a hinge. what I am after if I can describe this right is a hinge for an inset door that can open 180 degrees but span over one inch as there is a large moulding it has to clear? this may be an upcoming job of converting a drinks cabinet into a TV cabinet. It is a regency style cabinet with inlaid arched doors and an arched moulding surrounding the top hence the clearance needed. Can anyone help with where to get a set of hinges?

I have no idea what type of hinge would suit, but may I suggest giving Blum a ring - 01908 285700. Hopefully they can suggest something suitable.

Good luck!

They go by various names, Parliment hinge, Broad butt or projection hinge.
Hafele are showing a 75 x 75 'projection' hinge, but I cannot find anything smaller tgan 3" which may be a but large for a relatively small cabinet?

No Mike those only open to 177 degrees and I need 180. The sliding pocket door is no use as the door has an arch that prevents this. A parliament type hinge would be ideal but it needs to have a 1" crank to do the job. Someone on the other forum has suggested two sets of hinges and a false frame which may work. The top moulding is the problem as it stands 1" proud of the cabinet and the door will have to sit back against this. I do seem to pick em!

If you angle the hole (for the hinge cup) by 3 degrees and leave the rear of the hinge just proud of the carcass, or put a bit of packing (I estimate around 0.5mm should do it) at the mid-rear of the hinge (thus tilting the hinge by 3 degrees from co-planar with the carcass) you'll have 180 degrees
