Hi there,

I'm about to start work on a bathroom refurb and want to build my own cabinets. I've chosen the sink with is a Duravit one linked below. The matching vanity unit that I want to replicate is shown below it, #LC6240.

Structurally, the base unit seems to be just two sides and a bottom. The right angle at the bottom is stiffened with a metal right angle bracket by the look of the mounting instructions.

I'm really just wondering about wood choices and how to finish it. Can I use solid wood for this application? I've seen that Osmo have a product designed for this, Wood Protector. Would I be fine to build an oak cabinet and use the Wood Protector followed by a coat of the hard wax? Or do I really need to use veneered ply/chipboard?

Thanks.
