Hi,

Can anyone identify this machine?

I bought it recently from an auction here in Finland, and it seems to be in pretty good shape. There's a marking plate in the motor, but I assume that ATAS (see atas dot cz -website) has only been a component manufacturer.

My intention is to use for it's original purpose, and I would be grateful for any information of the machine itself and also of the proper ways to use it.

Thanks!

It looks like a good quality machine but sorry I can not identify it. Have a look over the machine for other marks. You will need a diamond disc however to sharpen TCT blades. The regular disc will do steel tip blades. The user manual would be great to have but you may have to resort to Google. They all use the same basic principle of offering the tooth to the grinder at the right angle and by the right amount of cut. There will be stops to the sliding section so you dont cut too deep and there should be a ratchet stop so you can click over one tooth at a time. A bit of a play with an old blade mounted (unpowered) to get an idea of setting up will explain more than I can on here. Correct setup is the key to getting a result with these machines.

Thanks for the reply, John!

Yes, it's solid built machine, weighs appr 47 kg. :)

I had also realized that I need to buy a diamond disc. The size is 150x20x3. Any recommendations for a place to purchasethe disc are also welcomed!

I do have a pile of old blades, I can devote some of those for practising. I think I need to google a bit to find some hints to speed up the learning process.
