This has probably been asked loads of times, but I need a good sized combination sander, preferably bench mounted. Its one of the last major pieces for the workshop, where I make either smaller gift items such as boxes upto individual occasional furniture for commission, so this m/c needs to be versatile, a good size, easy to maintain/setup and reliable.

I guess I'm looking at a 9" (210mm) disk and 4' (1220mm) belt sanding unit with a maximum budget of £300, which puts me in the Axminster AS610STS range but just short of the JET JSG-96 (pity). So .....

1) - Any other suggestions as to what makes and models to look at?
2) - How noisy are they when running unloaded? (small workshop and elderly neighbours)
3) - Accuracy and reliability?
4) - Running costs (such as any "features" that improve belt and disk wear)
5) - Anything else I should be looking out for?

Any help or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well (unless you'd advise looking at Machine Mart).

:?

If you are prepared to make the compromise of an 8" disc, it might be worth waiting a few months for the Triton

Cheers,
Neil
