Hi all
Been looking for a scroll saw for a bit now and managed to win a hegner E14 on eBay
Picked it up and got it home
Looks a great little saw but there us a couple of jobs I need to do
It needs new blade holders and a quick tensioner all available from hegner I think
One question you guys might be able to confirm
If I don't use the hold down foot can I take off the long arm?
Also any advice fir a newbie would be most welcome
Blades, things to cut etc
Ta

You will not use the foot so take it off but leave the arm in place. You may want to fit a small lamp for cutting (led type)and the arm is an ideal place to attach it. Also the blower will be pushing fine saw dust straight into your face, so a flexible tube adapter will have to be fitted some how. here that arm will be use full.
When it come to blades ,unlike most people here, I will say "pays your money take your choice". Buy blades from a few different manufactures, try them out and use the ones you like. Troll through the past posts and you will soon seen sufficient information to form an opinion. Look in the scroll saw magazine and you will see plenty to choose. Try not to become wedded to a particular manufacture because it may limit you cutting experience. There is no real problem in sending to America for your blades.
You've got a nice little saw.
Good luck.

Thanks for the advice guys
I am just off to Hegner UK to pick up some bits, quick clamp and blade holders.
hopefully start practicing tonite with the blades that were with the unit
will keep you informed on progress
