I was commissioned to make a pair of vase pedestals for a Georgian table in walnut. They provided the blanks. 9" square and 3' long, heavy and a sod to get centred on the lathe single handed. The finished pedestal is 600mm long and 320mm wide at the widest point. Goblets are much easier LOL. It's left bare as they will need to stain / polish to match the table top.

You did very well to take a 9" blank and make it 320mm wide! (230mm?)

...sorry I know everyone hates a smart-ar$e

Looks good though.

I haven't a clue why I put those sizes down LOL. The proper dimensions are 510mm long and 160mm at the widest diameters.

Walnut's a lovely wood and those are lovely and impressive pieces. I don't think my lathe will run slow enough to rough turn an off centre lump like that without shaking it's self to bits!
I presume there'll be a couple of bowls emerging from the offcuts?

Thank you. I do indeed have some offcuts which are in the process of becoming a pair of bowls. The customer ordered wood far longer than needed ....shame. I'll post when completed.
