Under orders from SWMBO to make some garden furniture quick.

I'd like Teak but mega £££. Iroko is better priced and available but I understand it can be nasty stuff to work with. I've noticed some of the furniture in the sheds is made of Roble wood and it doesn't look too bad.

I can't find any reference to this wood in the timber suppliers though. Has anybody used this and is it called by another name ?

Thanks Jeff

Google is your friend http://tropicalhardwoods.com/htm/tropic ... /roble.htm

Species: Amburana cearensis
Additional Comments: An acacia, whose lumber resembles highly-figured white oak (Roble = "oak" in Spanish). A sweetly-fragranced wood, that is easy to work and very stable. Prized for furniture building and cabinetry work in Argentina. AKA "Cerejeira".

Never used it. I would use Iroko and use barrier cream on your hands. It isn't really that nasty unless you are particularly sensitive - try some and see.

Thanks Chris

I was looking at suppliers to try and get an idea of price and availability rather than a general search. Thanks for the link.
