At least that is what I call these. They are made from various woods, usually walnut which I have an endless supply of in small spindles and ash or poplar. This one is 7" tall and coated inside with melamine.

Thank you Nev. I do a lot of goblets and chalices and try and make each one different. Also a good way of using those thin spindles that I have as I don't do pens LOL.

I like the clean angular lines, I find the name "Harlequin" apt and does conjure up an image of old time tall & slim diamonds coated figure for me.
 
Very nice lines and a clever piece of turning!! I think most turners would have gone for a rounded foot, but I think the way you have produced a square foot with quadrants is not only clever, but very effective too!
