Hi all

I like to pick up a few bits and pieces at boot sales etc

I picked up this nice little 4oz hammer the other day

Its very nicely made, I haven't seen another like it, I was surprised there wasn't a makers mark or name anywhere on it

Not sure of its original purpose, jewellery perhaps

Just wondered on the ff chance if anyone knew the manufacturer, or original purpose perhaps

Many thanks, that was my thought also

It could almost be described as "pretty" , certainly I haven't seen a similar one, just surprised there does not appear to be a makers mark on it

Another clue I forgot to mention, it has a central pin dot in the middle of the flat head

The handle is rather slim which suggests fine work rather than heavier

A nice thing to have

My great grandfather was a jeweller so perhaps something that might have been in his tool kit

In hammer terms that's the equivalent of Lippizaner Stallions. Lovely thing.
