Hall bench aka Hall tree

Just a few pics of the Hall Bench /tree I'm building for a friend.

The design and current progress.

Start work on the back tomorrow.

My friend wants it finished naturally, having never finished pine like that I'm concerned that the knots might seep resin??? Anyone have any advice?

This might seem like a daft question but do you know what your friend means by 'natural'?
Colour, natural product, natural feel?
I just wonder as to me it can be interpreted many ways.
Personally I like danish oil for that kind of design but it would give quite a bit darker warmer colour.
A lot of people seem to favour lacquer for keeping the finish from altering the colour too much from the raw wood but I haven't personally finished anything with lacquer.
Looks like the build is going well so far, look forward to seeing the finished result
