Hi, I am looking to buy what will be my first medium sized wood lathe and am erring on an older British machine.
My shortlist is the Wadkin BZL and the Union Graduate. I have Wadkin machines in my workshop so tend to favour this maker, but the Union Graduate appears to be much more easily obtained.
Is there anyone out there familiar with both machines who can give me some comparison remarks of these machines?
I have seen a Graduate but only pictures of the BZL, is there anyone in the Lancashire area with a BZL willing to let me have a look over there machine?
My intention will be to upgrade it to variable speed at a later date.
Your opinions and any known pros and cons for these machines would be gratefully received.
Derek
