Not that long ago I bought a lever from F/D mike,to use on the Hegner Quick release clamp I was having difficulty in tightening it.While I was waiting for it to arrive one of the group posted a photo showing how they had modified the aluminium knob by drilling the side and putting a steel pin in to give a lever action ( THANK YOU =D>) .The lever that I had bought was bending the top of the blade with tightening and I had to straighten it to go through the holes. It seemed a good idea at the time, but has now become a waste of money and surplus to requirements.Yesterday I drilled the aluminium knob in two places directly opposite and inserted a steel pin in each hole and secured them.I think with having the two pins in the knob gives me better control in just nipping it tight.

Bryan.

Thanks for posting, I think my grip is waning, I don't have a problem tightening the clamp but from time to time I struggle to loosen it. :x
So maybe a modification looming, I have two quick clamps, so can modify one and leave the other as is.

I only use the quick clamp for inside cuts, all out side cuts are carried out with a standard clamp top and bottom.

Regards.

Chris I wish that I had not ordered the lever, but I am quite impatient at times. The photo posted only had one steel pin in the side, and unfortunately for me was posted after I had ordered the lever. You can try it with one pin,to be truthful I drilled the hole in the wrong place.and decided to drill another opposite for another pin. With having two pins I think that you have more control over tightening, for me it works a dream.
