Not done much in the workshop over the last couple of days due to the weather. Its the first time since i’ve had the workshop that the temperature has gone into the negatives. The themometer says the minimum temp its been is -1.1 degrees. The workshop is currently +1.0 degrees, i took the cover off and went to use the tormek, and the wheel has ice crystals over it...

I want to avoid cracking the wheel at all costs, so do i avoid using it until it naturally de-frosts?

If there's any doubt there's no doubt. Although I haven’t a clue these things aren’t cheap, let it defrost naturally.

Never had mine freeze, it does get mouldy though.

I am sure it will be fine when de-frosted. Wouldn't worry about the ring test, its not spinning fast enough.

It will still determine if it is fractured

I have been so busy this last few months with work and i forgot what i was doing and touching up a couple chisels for work the next day left the trough in place full of water. trough is now welded to the wheel with ice, think i might get a sorby pro edge for the home workshop!!!!! #-o
