This morning I was supervising some ground work on one of our fisheries,I have not done much fishing this year due to a medical condition.I am a bailiff and check that the people fishing have got permits, this morning there was a van with the side advertising timber sales.I thought (interesting) on finding the member I asked to see his permit and was the van his.The answer was yes,I then asked would it possible that if they had any off cuts would it be possible for me to get some, explaining to him that I did projects for two cancer charities. The answer was a firm positive,I told him that I would be interested in any wood that was available. It will be interesting to see the wood that he brings.Happy Days

Hope that what they have is suitable Bryan . It's good that they offered even if it is not suitable there is goodness in people and most are pleased to share .

You being a Bailiff reminds me of a story os a man being taken to task for fishing without a permit ,who explained to the bailiff that he was only teaching the worm how to swim . God Bless.

I received a text yesterday,to meet up with the fishing club member to take delivery of some wood.It was in pieces 2ft to 3ft lenghs,8in to 11in wide,a quick check it all amounted to 43 feet in total length.when asked how much reply was free and get in touch again when you need some more. Some projects for the family will be in proper wood not in birch plywood which what I intended to make them from.HAPPY DAYS :-"

The wood that I received was rough, today the situation have moved forward. There is a very good chance that I will get the wood machine planed. That will be a dream come true, has a thank you to both parties I will make a project for each of them. The machining was not possible because the blades were badly chipped,I was told that the next unit might be able to help me.It was agreed that for £20 the 16 pieces of hardwood would be planed,I thought that it was a very fair price to pay for the work to be done.

I picked up my wood this morning, all nice and smooth,I will be making three candle trays ( Shiela Landry pattern) for two daughters and the third for Enid my wife. Not being knowledgeable with name of woods,I asked the guy where I had the wood planed which wood was it.I can't remember the full name it began with S and he said it was a substitute hard wood for Mahogany,I am going now to pick(never had the choice before)a piece of WOOD to make the next project.
