As part of a collection of tools I got a nice Footprint egg beater type drill, MOD issue 1982, seems hardly touched. The chuck though is a bit rusty and is keyless and I really don't like this type, is is possible to replace with a keyed or more modern keyless that is easier to use?

Most (if not all) of the Footprint eggbeaters/breast drills I have seen have had Jacobs chucks, so I would guess that it would be straightforward to unscrew your existing chuck and find an internally threaded Jacobs to fit.

Measured the arbour today, its just a touch over 11mm and has a 26tpi thread. Very unusual, closest thread I can find on my chart is a 7/16 x 26tpi. Can't find a chuck with that thread at all, I had really expected to find something more common like M14x1 or maybe 3/8 x 24tpi.
