Hey guys,
Help......

I am repairing a chopping board for a friend and it has a few major gouges in it... God knows what hes been doing with it...

Where can i get some food safe resin to help fill the holes or something similar that will work?

Many thanks

Craig

If you don't undercut the gouges, or drill a few holes, any filler material is just going to work loose over time anyway, what with regular wetting and drying cycles to help the process along.

Even if it weren't for this I'd be inclined to just leave them, if the user cleans their board properly they don't pose much more risk than a juice groove on a carving board. Or a very deep knife score, which wooden boards can have aplenty.

if they are really deep and jagged, just sand them smooth, boards should be left as bare wood, cleaned with a damp but not wet cloth, then rubbed over with half a lemon, the lemon is used as an anti bacterial cleanser and freshener,

Thanks guys... that pretty much saves me a lot grief.... lol...

Much appreciated... I'll get wired in and get the belt sander out
