I am looking for the plastic circular inserts (and jig) that can be routed into a floor to provide access panels. I haven't seen them for a while and I don't know what they are called.
Has anyone used them and do they do the job?

any links etc greatly appreciated.

Regards

perfect thank you....anyone used it ?

It's not cheap to buy and a shame you need two complete kits for the different thickness floor. I would have thought it could be made universal.

I am not sure if this will be within the budget for the job.....three access panels.

I think that I will look into a home made version.

thanks to all

There's also another type that uses a simple hole saw that goes in a drill. I think you can use them in different thickness floors

I use the hole saw type much more convenient than getting the router out and you can position them right up to the wall. Marketed by Armeg available from Toolstation

I just cut a rectangular hole with my router, rebated the edges and made a new cover to fit the hole from another piece of floor board. (on an area which isn't subject to much traffic I cut with my jigsaw and screwed batons on the underside of the hole to create the rebate and just dropped the original piece back in)

The Trend routabout crops up on eBay quite often
