well done. Just starting myself so its good to see what others are making. This forum is brilliant for advice.
 
I think it was sported ash I used finishing oil 3 coats sanding between each coat, I had some Bees wax sheets which I melted down and coated it with the Bees wax when it was still warmish then just buffed it up.
 
Nuffin wrong there just keep on practicing im still doing it ,as long as you get pleasure out of your work its a great relief ,its a hobby not a job and the end product comes together in time not overnight well done I say
