Hi all,
so im pretty much finished my new raised decking project, its 10 x 8 meters and i have left a recess approx 1.5m wide by 0.75m deep to build my firepit / bbq. The deck is raised approx 60cm off the floor where the firepit will be placed, i have put a hardcore concrete base approx 150mm thick ready to brick my pit onto. What im not 100% sure is what is the best or most suitable type of brick and mortar i need to use ? The pit will be come past the height of the decking by approx 600mm, and i will have slate tile on top of the deck round the pit to catch any falling embers et. I plan on leaving a gap between the pit and deck of approx 50mm so the heat off the brick will not be in direct contact with the wood.
Hope this makes sense, any advice on brick etc would be very much appreciated
Andy
