Hi - I want to stain and varnish a pine floor. The stain should be dark ie oak or teak with a matt finish. I wondered what would be the easiest way to do this ie stain and then varnish or does anyone know of an all-in-one product that would do the trick?

thanks
Andriy

Hi Andriy,

In my opinion the best products to use are a waterbased bound stain like Aquastain followed by a clear protective coating like Aquacoat SP or Bonakemi Resident.

Is it just for you home? If so, then 1 coat or 2 coats ofAquastain which is available in 16 Shades followed by at least 3 coats of Aquacoat SP Matt. This system will give excellent protection and a very subtle looking finish.

I hope this information is of some interest but please come back with any other questions.

HI Ian

Thanks for your advice. We'll try it out on samples and see how it looks
