Hi I'm looking to purchase one of festools ctl extractors but I want to know if the hose will fit on to my other kit (not festool) or will I have to buy adapters?

Hard to say without knowing what other kit you have 
Festool CTL vacs come with a 27mm hose fitted with a slightly flexible rubber end piece - can't find dimensions to it online so I'll check when I'm in the workshop later. If you need to know for sure if something will fit, you can always buy just the replacement end piece and offer it up to your other kit.

It fits well on my De Walt 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch routers.
It also works on my Metabo sander, but it's not such a good fit and falls out from time to time.
