I want to concrete some (concrete) fence posts tomorrow.

I have cement.
I have ballast.
I have holes dug.

Someone has given me a big bag of hydrated lime, is there any advantage in incorporating this into the mix, and if so what proportions?

Almost certainly none at all - is the cement OPC or masonry cement (if the latter, it'll probably already have some lime in it). If they're wooden fence posts, my experience is that concreting them in shortens their life as water is trapped and the bottom rots off faster than in plain soil.

It's a long way to come over just for this, I know, but I have a 2-way fencepost spirit level you would be welcome to borrow. It helps you to get it level in both axes.

Thanks, I have one of those.
They are OK if you are single handed but my son is helping me and we prefer a proper level

I had guessed as much, thanks for confirming.
I am building a "lean to" for my garage

Because its what I have left over from another job:
The corner post will be a an 8 ft concrete (those with slots) post. Then four 4ft off cuts from similar. These I'll concrete in too so I can put in 6"concrete gravel boards. The height will then be supplemented with 3X3 wooden posts above ground. all wood will be off the ground.

If you run out of cement, Postcrete is brilliant stuff, goes off in minutes so no need to shore posts up while they set. https://tarmac-bluecircle.co.uk/product ... ete-trade/

I have recently had a very long run of 6ft fencing put in my garden and that's what the erector used, yes its good stuff but in this instance I am using up/recycling stuff I have.

The erector made me smile; he had an old hardpoint saw that he used to "work" the water into the postcrete. Brilliant bit of lateral thinking.
