Evolution Fury3 XL sliding mitre saw

Typically for me the saw failed not long after the warranty expired. It just stopped, not under load, and I thought I heard a small popping noise from the motor. Evolution asked me to check part 135, a small oblong box sort of thing, to see if the connection had come loose, but it hadn't and they didn't suggest anything else. Has anyone had similar trouble, or can anyone suggest what it might be? All suggestions gratefully received.
