dust hose connections

is there a quick/easy way of connecting 4" flexi dust hose to another length of 4" flexi dust hose. Or hetter still converting the end of one piece so that it can just take one of these type of things? (at least that way all of my floor standing machines would have the same fitting, and i can swap the dust extraction between machines)

I use a length of soil pipe I cut a strip out (can't remember how much) and join the edges with pop rivets through the cut off piece placed inside.
I cut the strip out on the band saw.
