Some time around the early 1980s, there was a design for a drum carder published in ?Woodworker? - or at least I am pretty sure there was one. However, searching through my bound volumes of WW for around that period has so far drawn a blank. Does anyone out there have a similar, but more precise, memory?

Or, does anyone have such a design lurking in their files somewhere? Ashby Design used to sell one, but they seem no longer to exist.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated (who knows, if the hunt is successful SWMBO might even reward the sender with an appropriate hand spun and knitted item :D )

Hi Dick

I have a copy of David Bryant's book 'Wheels and Looms' - it has a chapter on and design for a drum carder - I could scan it next time I'm at work.

Regards Mick

Thanks, Mick. Don't worry about scanning - with that reference, Aberdeenshire libraries may be the answer. The lady in Inverurie library spent a long time on Saturday explaining to this old duffer how to search the online catalogue, so now's the chance to put it all into practice :D .

Much sought after - look up the current s/h prices if you want a laugh...

Offer stands if you don't have any joy - it's been out of print for quite some time.
