I came across a simple upgrade to the existing top blade guide and thought I'd share it.
I found a complete assembly for a Proxxon bandsaw which drops right in with a small shim to hold the stem in place. The Proxxon part no. is 28187 and is ideal for 1/4" blades or smaller. With a little machining it could probably stretch to 3/8".
I purchased it on Ebay from the same shop in Germany that's also selling them on Amazon but Amazon's price is higher with shipping.
Admittedly shipping was almost as expensive as the part but was still less than £23 in total and I think it will be a worthy upgrade.
