Thanks to a member of this forum I discovered iLivid which I use on my PC. Does anyone know of an App that does the same for a tablet?

If it's android then I can highly recommend an app caller pvstar+. I've tried quite a few YouTube apps and they've all been pants. Best of all pvstar+ is freeeeeeeeeee.:mrgreen:

Just download the video on your PC and transfer it to your tablet. I use youtube-dl on Linux and gmtp to transfer the files to my Nexus 7

Many thanks for these suggestions but the Firefox downloader does not work on my version. The others will not work on my version of android.
As I am a bit late to this game I will have to surrender!!

 :(

Cracked it!!!!!!!!!

I have found a way round the problem by ignoring the warnings that the video clips may not work on my tablet.

:D :D
