I saw this while surfing the net and thought people might be intrested.

I'd love to give this a go, but don't YET own a bandsaw! Has anyone tried anything like this before, how hard would it be to make?
The bit that concerns me would be getting even circles on the bandsaw? Anyway I think it looks great! :wink:

Some interesting pieces on his site, thanks for the link.

As for cutting circles, I personally would temporarily bond the wood to a larger piece of scrap mdf/ply/hardboard and pivot it on a circle cutting jig similar to this, that way the tendency for the wood to slide down the slope would be negated as well.
 
thats some fancy looking dove tailing,have you thought of sandwiching some different light and dark wood together , a bit less technical with a very similar result
